PhotoEx:London&Paris

This summer, you’re invited to travel to London & Paris with the Institute of Photographic Studies. Our photo tour of these two European capitals is an incredible cultural experience—one you will never forget. The origins of both cities date back nearly two millennia, and the years of their existence contain a wealth of history, art, and culture.
Our adventure begins in the heart of London, where there is nothing quite like ascending from the Tube station to find Big Ben soaring overhead. On Sunday morning we’ll attend a service in the incredible Westminster Abbey before heading up the street to Trafalgar Square and the British Museum. This will be followed by a trip up the dome in Saint Paul’s Cathedral, Tower Bridge, and the Tower of London.
On our third full day in London, we will take a short jaunt to London’s academic suburb, Oxford. Here we catch a glimpse of C.S. Lewis’ natural habitat, and visit some of his old haunts, including dinner at Eagle and Child. Be prepared to poke your head into old bookshops, and walk down the famous Cornmarket Street. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself thinking scholastic thoughts!
Our next adventure is an underwater journey by train (under the English Channel!) to Paris, the City of Lights. Even older than London, this city is teeming with sights to see, things to do, and fantastic foods to eat! We will visit The Eiffel tower several times, but you won’t get tired of it... Notre Dame, The Arc d’Triumph, and The Louvre are all amazing as well! This city is known for its artists, and we think you’ll be quite inspired yourself.
On our fourth day in Paris, we will take a day trip to the beaches of Normandy. Here we will introduce you to Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetery that commemorates the Americans who died there in WWII. You will be proud of your American Heritage, and reminded of the sacrifices made for our freedom.
Our last day together will find us on the early train back to London, and enjoying a matinee performance of The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre.
