Online Photography Class

Students learning photography from IPS.

Learning photography is a fun and exciting journey—it doesn’t matter if you’re an Instagram fanatic or a RAW-file-purist who would never even dream of chimping on a photo. Here at IPS, we see photography as an Art and a Science, creative Self-Expression and a powerful Communications Tool, a fun Hobby and a fantastic Profession. Our online workshops are practical; designed to equip you with best skills and techniques, no matter where you’re coming from. We believe in hands-on education. Each of our classes gets you to participate by watching videos, photographing assignments, writing papers, and joining live critique sessions with your instructor.

The IPS Difference
The internet has made it possible for just about anyone to learn just about anything through free tutorials and user forums. Taking classes through IPS is different:

  • IPS instructors are working professionals with years of experience in their field
  • IPS has successfully taught thousands of students in 4 continents since 2000
  • IPS teaches you how to evaluate images, not just manipulate a camera
  • You will learn photography from a Biblical worldview
  • Our content is free of pornographic material
  • You have a dedicated instructor to answer your personal questions and guide your education
  • Learn with other students
  • Our curriculum is comprehensive and proven
  • Join our Christian, photographic community
  • Experience is the best teacher; put ours to work for you!

How do they work?
IPS online workshops are formatted as 8-week classes. Each week students will watch several short instructional videos, put their learning into practice through photographic assignments, expand their knowledge through research and writing assignments, and participate in live review and critique sessions with their instructor and classmates. Classes are formatted and graded to make it easy for students to present them to a college or university for portfolio credits. (IPS does not guarantee acceptance for credit!)
